Lady Vikings Cruise to a Win on Senior Night
The Village School honored three senior players, along with a senior student manager, in front of parents, classmates, and Village faculty and staff on Tuesday as the Lady Vikings Basketball team defeated the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders 29-13 on Senior Night.
The game was a primarily defensive contest as the Vikings allowed just seven points from the field, with the rest coming at the free throw line. While points were hard to come by, the Vikings never trailed in the contest.
Senior Team Captains Elizabeth Walton (17.2 PPG, 7RPG, 4APG, 4SPG), Amina Djibrine Sy (4.7 PPG, 7.6RPG, 2020 State Champion), and Margaret Davis (25% 3-PT, 2020 State Champion) were all in the starting lineup and contributed minutes to the win. Walton scored 19 of the Vikings' 29 points while going 4-4 from the free throw line, and Djibrine Sy added five points, including a three-pointer. Scoring was also added by Mila Rossini, who contributed five points of her own.
Having finished district play, the Vikings now await their seeding for the State Tournament beginning Friday, February 17th.
