Strength & Conditioning Information
The Village School is happy to announce that we have added a full-time Director of Sports Performance to our staff. Scott Kellar, CSCS is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and brings 25 years of coaching experience to the Village family and our student-athletes. Coach Kellar is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he is played football and then was drafted in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Coach Kellar played three years for the Colts before starting his coaching career. Coach Kellar spent fifteen years as a Head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator at the collegiate level having coached at the College of DuPage, Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green State University and most recently at the University of Houston. Coach Kellar spent the past nine years as Director of Sports Performance for Velocity Sports Performance and currently owns his own performance company where he has trained over 1,500 student athletes, Olympians, and professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, and NBA. Coach Kellar has also authored three books in the area of strength & conditioning.
We are pleased to have Coach Kellar on staff to help develop our student-athletes. He has developed a program that will enhance the whole student-athlete focusing on strength, power, speed, agility, mobility, flexibility, coordination, stability and body awareness. Coach Kellar is married to his wife Dana and has a daughter, Jacquelyn (19) who attends Baylor University.
