2023 Viking Golf Season Recap
A year of new heights comes to an end.
The 2022-2023 season has been nothing short of exceptional for the Village High School Golf Team. A year marked by shattering records and strong performances that pushed our teams to new heights.
The Girls' Team, consisting of Caroline Hsu, Emma Wilson, Isha Mittal, Tisha Dumrongthai, and Serena Rajwani, established a new school record with a low team score of 368. It was an accomplishment highlighting the skill, determination, and synergy of our girl golfers. Further adding to our accolades, Caroline Hsu set a personal and school record with an outstanding low 18-hole round of 84. Their dedication and team spirit led them to a commendable fourth-place finish in the district tournament and subsequently secured their place in the State Tournament.
The Boys' Team, meanwhile, with an impressive roster of Kris Kuvaas, Dhruv Dhingra, Gene Hur, Cole Reid, and Wei-Jia Chen, tied for third place at district and advanced to the State Tournament. Among them, Kris Kuvaas continued his standout success placing first at district with an incredible score of seven under par. His exceptional performance didn't stop there though; he continued to showcase his prowess at the State Tournament, finishing as a proud runner-up.
The dedication, determination, and talent shown by all team members this season have indeed set a high bar for the years to come. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and are excited about the bright future of golf at Village High School.
