Cross Country Season Recap from Coach Mastro and Coach Purnell

The Village School's Boys and Girls cross country team's season came to end on Monday October 29, at the 2018 TAPPS State Championships. In a rebuilding year, the defending District 3 champion boys finished 8th of 20 at States, led by Captain and academic All-State runner Kaushal P in 15th place with Bram S close behind in 18th. Other Varsity scorers were Captain Matias C, Sebastian M, and Mitchell P.

The Girls Varsity team, 4th in District 3, and missing 2 of their top 5 scorers, finished 12th of 16 at States. Led by Captain and Academic All-State runner Doris M's 10th place finish, and newcomer Zoe G's 23rd place finish, the Vikings ran one of their best races of the year. Nina M, Harleen B, and Emily H rounded out the scoring.

All in all, 32 of 34 runners set new personal bests in October, and with a young squad, Village looks to be formidable in 2019. We are graduating 3 seniors: Evan B, Lance V, and Paschalis E. We will miss them!
