High School Cross Country Preview from Coach Mastro

After a delayed start due to Hurricane Harvey, the Viking harriers open the 2017 cross country season at the Allen Academy Ram meet in College Station. With an eye on Village's first district title, this year's talented squad is led by senior captain Alex A-E, senior Eduardo G., and senior 400m/800m specialist Ben A. Sophomore, Kaushal P and senior, Marco S, round out the Viking top 5. Many of the team of 38 ran hundreds of miles in preparation for the 2017 season.

The Lady Viking harriers are led by returning sophomore Doris M and newcomer senior Rebekah H. Competing for the coveted top 5 scoring positions will be seniors Melanie D and Reshmi P, sophomore Aniek V and Freshman Sophie L. The team looks to be the most competitive Village girls team in the last 3 years.

The Vikings look forward to a great season and look forward to upcoming meets so we can showcase all of the hard work we have been putting in.
