Varsity Girls Lacrosse Win Their Season Opener!
On Monday, February 26th, the varsity girls lacrosse team competed in their season opener against Friendswood High School. The girls played great throughout the game and had contributions from everyone on the team, both offensively and defensively. The goals came from 6 different players, showing the firepower this team has. The goals were scored by: Dana M (1), Dasha Z (2), Maddie D (1), Kat Herbert (3), Deeptha K (1), and Victoria F (3). Defensively, the Vikings only conceded 2 goals as Goalie, Maria M was outstanding in net with 5 saves on the night. Deeptha K controlled the midfield with a team-leading 8 ground balls.
Coach Yoo praised the focus and effort from her team in saying, "The girls have put so much effort during pre-season and it showed when we defeated Friendswood Monday night. It was great to see them work as a team and be aggressive on the field. Seeing the light and joy that covered their faces after the game is one memory I'll never forget. I hope that we will take this energy and keep the culture of Vikings ongoing. Coach Jenkins and I are excited to see what this season holds for us!"
