Varsity Boys Win the Cornerstone Christian Tournament!

Our Varsity boys basketball team competed in the San Antonio Cornerstone Christian basketball tournament over the weekend. Playing games on Friday -12/1/17 and Saturday-12/2/17. The team played 2 games on each day. On Friday, the team won 2 games. At 3:30 the Vikings took on San Antonio Christian, winning by a score of 61-36. This was a big win for the Vikings because San Antonio Christian had beaten the vikings in last years tournament. In the second game the vikings defeated the host team Cornerstone Christian. It was a great game that the vikings were able to win in overtime 84-80. On Saturday the vikings were able to win a close one by beating Holy Cross 51- 46. Next the championship game. This game was played at 3:30 pm on Saturday and the team was ready to go. In the championship game the team played some great basketball and jumped on St. Augustine of Laredo right out of the gate. Going into this game the team believed that it would be a hard fought game one that we could win . St. Augustine had just beaten Holy Cross by 30 points and the vikings had a hard game with them winning by only 5 points against Holy Cross. So going in to the championship game the vikings didn't know what would happen. It would take a big effort to beat St. Augustine and that is just what happen. The team played their best basketball of the season , shared the ball very well and made lots of shots from outside. The vikings went on to defeat St.Augustine in the championship game by a score of 77-44. It was a great tournament and all of the players played awesome! The team has improved it's record to 9-0 on the season. Right now we are playing incredible basketball said Coach Harvey. The Vikings next home game will be on Friday -12/8/17 at 7:00 PM. The Vikings will host Lutheran North.
