A Homecoming Hit
The Vikings defeat the Harmony Wildcats 44-19 in Homecoming game.
Homecoming is a Fall tradition throughout the state of Texas and nowhere was that more evident than here at The Village School on Friday night as the Vikings took down the Katy Harmony School of Innovation Wildcats in the Village Homecoming game. As the lights came on after a week of festivities, the Vikings showed up not only in the stands but on the field as well, with the Vikings earning their first win of the season by a score of 44-19.
After a raucous pep rally for students and staff on Friday afternoon the team took to the field in front of a packed house. The Vikings jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back.
The Vikings' Offensive attack was led by Senior QB Devon Stevenson who went 13/22 passing for 197 yards and two touchdowns and added 38 yards rushing on seven attempts for another two scores. Junior WR Preston Dinh led all pass catchers with 146 receiving yards for a pair of scores while RB Senior Owen Fan led ball carriers with 113 yards on 11 carries and two trips into the endzone as well. A field goal was also added by Senior Kicker Malek Moukarin.
The Vikings' Defense stood stout on Friday, allowing just 19 points by the Wildcats. The Vikings were led defensively by Senior LB Ryan Man Kit Cheng who recorded eight tackles and two sacks, and by Junior DB Arshia Farhadinia who added two tackles and an interception to the defense's tally.
The Vikings will look to continue their success as they host KIPP Generations for Senior Night this Friday, October 6th at 6:30 PM.
